Nobody walks through the Hall of Flames to Valakas. Klein, the Watcher of Valakas, lets a player in only for a Floating Stone, and he can make one only from Vacualite. Blacksmith Hilda in Goddard can refine it, if you bring her the ore.
Floating Stone cannot be traded, dropped, sold or stored in a warehouse, and Klein takes one each time he lets you into the Hall of Flames. Repeat the quest to keep a few in reserve; they stack.Step 1 — Klein
Klein stands on the lower level of the Forge of the Gods, in front of the Hall of Flames. To get there, talk to the Global Gatekeeper in Goddard, press Teleport to Retail Level up Grounds and choose Hot Springs (326,000 Adena), then walk east to the Forge.
Talk to Klein, choose Quest (and Into the Flame if he lists more than one), then Quest again to accept. He sends you to Blacksmith Hilda in Goddard for a Vacualite.
Step 2 — Blacksmith Hilda
Talk to Hilda in Goddard Castle Town and ask "Where can I find Vacualite ore?". She needs 50
Vacualite Ore.
Step 3 — Vacualite Ore
Each kill of the monsters below has a 50% chance to give one ore, until you have 50.
| Monster | Level | Where | Behaviour |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kookaburra | 67 | By Goddard Castle | Passive |
| Bandersnatch | 69 | Around Goddard Castle Town | Aggressive |
| Grendel | 71 | West of the town, toward the Garden of Wild Beasts | Aggressive |
In a party, each ore goes to one random party member who is still collecting. Once a member has all 50, the rest of the ore goes to the others, so a whole party can finish together.
Step 4 — Vacualite
Bring the 50 ore to Hilda and choose "Here you go.". She melts it down into one
Vacualite.
Step 5 — the Floating Stone
Take the Vacualite back to Klein and choose "Here it is.". He gives you the reward and the quest ends. You can start it again right away.
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Floating Stone | 1 |
If you abandon the quest, you lose the ore and the Vacualite you are carrying.
