Songs of the Seventh Anvil

Mammon kept seven anvils. On six he forged for whoever could pay; on the seventh he forged nothing at all. There he engraved, on a tablet of star-iron, the patterns of the armors kings would kill for. Veylan, the youngest of his apprentices, was carrying that tablet when the Bloody host of Dragon Valley fell on his caravan. The tablet shattered into four pieces, and Veylan fled to Hardin's Academy, where the archmage gave him a corner of the library in exchange for his silence.

Why you want it: this quest is where the Mammon armor recipes come from - the castles no longer sell them. To craft the armor you also need one Mammon Fabric per piece. The town blacksmiths weave it from the Recipe: Mammon Fabric (100%), which Isaura gives in Dion (the quest Threads of the Golden Loom), and Sailren sometimes drops the Fabric itself.

Step 1 — Veylan

Veylan stands in the courtyard of Hardin's Academy, beside Hardin himself. Choose Quest and accept. You need to be level 80 or higher. The quest opens in a later chronicle: until then, Veylan tells you that the tablet still sleeps.

Step 2 — The traitor

The Bloody host did not find the caravan by chance: Ragraman, the hooded wanderer on the road to the School of Dark Arts, sold them its route. The tablet will not answer while he lives. Kill Ragraman (a Very Easy raid boss). Everyone of your party on the quest near the kill moves on with you.

Step 3 — Four pieces, four thieves

The Bloody host of Dragon Valley Cave keeps the tablet's pieces as trophies, ground to shards. Gather them one piece after the other: each kind of monster only gives its piece while you are on it.

• Party play: every party member on the quest near the kill gathers from the same monster.
• Membership doubles the shards per drop.

Step 4 — The ember of the Seventh Anvil

Whole, the tablet is still cold: it was cut on a living anvil and needs its fire. When the caravan fell, the Antharas Elite Guard swallowed the ember that burned in the tablet's case. Defeat it in Dragon Valley Cave (a Very Hard raid boss). Again, your party on the quest near the kill moves on with you.

Step 5 — The tablet sings

Return to Veylan. The tablet hums in his hands, and he can read one pattern before the song fades: choose the armor set, then the piece. You get that recipe. The pieces scatter back to the Bloody host, and you can start again right away for another pattern.

If you abandon the quest, you lose the shards you carry.
