Freya, the Ice Queen, is the epic boss of the Ice Queen's Castle, south-east of Schuttgart, by Frost Lake. She first appears in Chronicle 14 (Ascension). She waits on her frozen throne, deep beneath the castle, and the only way to her is the story of the Jinia Guild, the rebels who hide in Rafforty's cabin.

After a kill, Freya comes back about 48 to 72 hours later, always between 21:00 and 22:00 (server time), at a random minute. The raid boss list in the Community Board shows the earliest time she can appear.

Eternal Blizzard and the Black Frozen Core

If the Blizzard lands and nobody used a Core, everyone in the throne room dies. Armour, HP and resistances do not matter.
  • In her first and last stage, about every 3 minutes, Freya stops and casts Eternal Blizzard. The first comes about 2 minutes into the fight. A message on the screen warns you, and the cast takes 12 seconds.
  • One raider must use a Black Frozen Core during the cast. It protects the whole command channel inside the room for 10 seconds, so do not use it the moment the warning appears: wait 2-3 seconds, or the protection runs out before the spell ends.
  • Each Core is used up, and the same player can only use one every 10 minutes. Agree beforehand who uses the Core for each Blizzard, for example party by party.
  • Jinia gives each raider one Core per entry, and Sirra gives five during Reunion with Sirra. Cores you have not used vanish when you leave the throne room.

More about the stone: Black Frozen Core.

The fight

StageWhat happens
1. The Queen (100-50%)Freya fights from her throne. Archery Knights come in waves of 4 about every minute. Glaciers rise next to random raiders: break them within 15 seconds, or each one turns into an Archer's Breath that freezes and hurts everyone around it. Eternal Blizzard.
2. Glakias (at 50%)Freya freezes and takes no damage. Glakias, the Archery Knight Captain, comes with 6 knights. Kill him to wake her.
3. The Queen's wrath (50-0%)Everything from stage 1, with waves of 6 knights, plus Death Clack and Reflect Magic. Eternal Blizzard.

How Freya fights

SkillWhat it does
Eternal BlizzardA 12-second cast. When it ends, everyone in the room without a Core's protection dies.
Ice BallWater magic thrown at a raider who attacks her from far away.
Attack Nearby RangeWhen five or more raiders crowd her, a heavy hit on everyone close around her.
Death ClackStage 3, about every minute: Freya marks a raider. 10 seconds later Cold Judgement strikes that raider and everyone within a few steps of them. The marked raider must run away from the others.
Reflect MagicStage 3, about every 90 seconds: for 10 seconds every magic skill cast on her is reflected on its caster. Mages, stop casting.

Freya's weaknesses

Weak toEffect
Physical damageHer M. Def. is among the highest of the epic bosses, second only to Beleth, while her P. Def. is middling.
Daggers and bowsFreya takes 25% more damage from dagger and bow attacks.

What Freya resists

Freya has 90% resistance to stun, sleep, root, paralysis and fear.

Failing, and the way out

  • If the Blizzard, or anything else, leaves nobody standing, the raid has failed. Freya heals fully, and 1 minute later everyone is revived in Rafforty's cabin. The throne then opens for the next command channel.
  • If nobody damages Freya or her servants for 15 minutes, she heals fully and everyone in the room is sent back to the cabin.
  • When Freya dies, her servants vanish and Jinia appears in the middle of the throne room for 15 minutes. She takes you back to the cabin, and ends Reunion with Sirra for those who were on step 7.

Notable drops

The loot goes to the player who dealt the most damage, and their party.
